Made in India
India's bio-composite cosmetic packaging manufacturer.
Agropak is a Bengaluru-based company making cosmetic jars from coconut shell and bamboo fiber — agricultural co-products from South India. No plastic. Independent test data from CIPET and TÜV SÜD. Supplying beauty brands across India.
The Indian market context
Why Indian beauty brands are looking at bio-based packaging now.
India's Plastic Waste Management Rules have been progressively tightened. Brands investing in packaging infrastructure are evaluating alternatives to plastic now, ahead of further regulatory movement.
Beauty brands exporting to the EU face Extended Producer Responsibility regulations and packaging material disclosure requirements. A bio-based content certificate from TÜV SÜD (ASTM D6866) is a documented compliance input for these disclosures.
The premium Indian beauty consumer is increasingly aware of packaging material claims. A jar made from coconut shell and bamboo, with no plastic, is a specific, demonstrable claim — not a generic "eco-friendly" marketing position.
Agropak uses raw materials — coconut shell, bamboo fiber — that are agricultural co-products from Indian farming. Manufacturing is in Bengaluru. The test laboratory is CIPET, an Indian government-affiliated testing body.
What it is
Bio-composite from coconut shell and bamboo fiber. Made in India.
Coconut shell and bamboo fiber are the primary raw materials. Both are agricultural co-products — the shells and fiber remaining after the primary crop is harvested. No virgin forest material. No food crop diversion.
TÜV SÜD has verified the bio-based carbon content at 93% using ASTM D6866 radiocarbon methodology. Verified by TÜV SÜD, Frankfurt — May 2026. This is not a self-declared marketing claim.
The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) conducted compression and drop testing. Results: 15,492 N compression strength; passed 0.8m concrete drop test. CIPET Bengaluru, May 2026.
The jar body and lid are both bio-composite. There is no plastic liner, no plastic closure, no petroleum-derived material in the packaging system. This distinguishes Agropak from glass jars (which typically use plastic lids) and most molded fiber formats (which often require a plastic liner for wet formulations).
